Abstract

The Elizabeth J. Agnew Scrapbook consists of a scrapbook of papers related to her work as Dean of Women at the Fort Hays Kansas State Normal School from 1919 to 1943. The scrapbook materials date approximately between 1910 and 1940. The materials consist of ephemera, programs, college guide books, greeting cards, and related materials.

Scope and Contents The Course Catalogs contain pertinent information for students. The catalogs list the members of the Kansas State Board of Regents, Faculty, a brief history of the University, directions to campus, a list of classes offered along with a brief description of the topic covered, registration requirements, degree requirements, recognition of graduates, enrolled students, and their year rank, along with tuition costs and required materials. Abstract

The Ernestine Fields Papers consists of the papers of Ernestine Fields, who graduated from the Fort Hays Kansas State Normal School in 1917 and who and taught music at the Kansas State Teachers College of Hays as a substitute in 1924. The papers are comprised of photographs, correspondence, coursework and music recital memorabilia relating to her time in Hays.

Abstract The James L. Forsythe Papers consists of materials created and collected by historian Dr. James L. Forsythe, who served as Chair of the History Department at Fort Hays State University from 1975 to 1981. The materials consist of research notes and manuscript drafts for Dr. Forsythe’s first book on the history of Fort Hays State University. Scope and Contents The first issue of the Leader was published in 1907 and continued until 2013. When it was founded, the paper was named the Western Normal Leader, becoming the State College Leader in 1931 and then the University Leader in 1977. The Clara and Henry Malloy Papers consists of the papers of Henry Edward Malloy, who served as the head of the Fort Hays Kansas State Normal School Music Department from 1914 to 1937, as well as the papers of Clara Louise Malloy, who was involved with the Music Department from 1914 to 1974. The papers are comprised of music programs, sheet music, photographs, postcards, newspaper clippings, and correspondence related to their time at Fort Hays.
