Dorman Lehman Collection
The Dorman Lehman Collection contains materials relating to the Overland Trails with an emphasis on the Leavenworth and Pike’s Peak Express. The collection of maps, research notes, correspondence, articles, and surveys was given to the Smoky Hill Trail Association by Mr. Lehman at the annual conference in Russell, Kansas in October 2014.

The Smoky Hill Trail Association was established in 2007 to preserve, promote and interpret the heritage of the Smoky Hill Trail which ran from Atchison, Kansas to Denver, Colorado beginning in 1859. The archives of the Association are located in Forsyth Library on the campus of Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.

Raymond L. Welty Papers
The Raymond L. Welty Papers consists of the papers of Dr. Raymond L. Welty, who taught in the history department at Fort Hays Kansas State College from 1936 to 1963. The materials date between 1920 and 1963. The papers are comprised of correspondence, research notes, course outlines, student papers, and a map.
