Scope and Contents
This photo album contains images documenting George F. Sternberg’s expeditions around North America and South America. This album features images of fossils, models, and photographs taken during Sternberg’s travels. In 1920, George Sternberg went to Red Deer River for the University of Alberta. He returned to that area again in 1921. In the spring of 1922, Sternberg worked with the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago to go on an expedition in Canada.
After Canada, Sternberg left for an expedition heading to Argentina, South America, in October of 1922. This photo album includes an expedition to Colorado's Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument and a trip to Arizona to see the petroglyphs and petrified forest and visit the Kaibab National Forest.
