Scope and Contents

This item is a small leather notebook containing Myrl V. Walker's research and field notes as a student at the Kansas State Teachers College of Hays and the University of Kansas. Notes include a glossary of paleontological terms, biology and plant classification notes, a diagram of the bones of a mammalian skull, lists of supplies needed for a fossil-hunting expedition, Walker's diary of the 1928 fossil hunt led by George F. Sternberg, and Walker's research notes on North American Lagomorphs.

Processing Information

This notebook was received as part of a donation by Katherine Rogers on behalf of the Myrl V. Walker Estate. It was originally processed as part of the Sternberg Family Collection and was attributed to George F. Sternberg. The notebook was transferred to the Myrl V. Walker papers in July 2026 after the university archivist determined that it belonged to Walker.
