Scope and Contents
The first issue of the Leader was published in 1907 and continued until 2013. When it was founded, the paper was named the Western Normal Leader, becoming the State College Leader in 1931 and then the University Leader in 1977. The newspaper was originally printed monthly but became weekly and then biweekly in the 1970s. The first digital copy of the University Leader was published in January of 1999. In 2014, the University Leader ceased to be a student publication, and was transitioned to an official publication of the Tiger Media Network.
