Back: THE OLD TOWN SANTA FE TRAIL, which ran from the town of Westport, which is now part of Kansas City, to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in the old border days, was a logical human pathway. The grades were easy and the trail followed closely its water supply. Dodge City was on the trail. In recent years there have been several movements started to mark the trail.
