Biographical / Historical

This file contains material from formerly top secret classified papers from the military intelligence department of the U.S. government. This is a factual account of how a young prisoner of war from Hays, KS used his skill and courage to wrest better living conditions from the German guards at a prisoner of war camp in World War II. Almost 4000 prisoners may owe their lives to Edmund Pfannenstiel. I was one of those prisoners of war and lived the events related in this account. - Dr. William D. Paschal
