Historical Note
The Fort Hays Singers is a vocal ensemble under the Department of Music and Theater that specializes in choral chamber music from a variety of music style periods. It was organized in fall semester of 1953 by Dr. Donald E. Stout, who directed the ensemble until his retirement in 1989. The Fort Hays Singers is directed by the Director of Choirs.

This collection consists of the faculty papers of Donald E. Stout Collection, who taught music at Fort Hays Kansas State College from 1953 to 1989. The materials consist of correspondence, research papers, teaching notes, musical compositions on sheet music, photographs, 35mm slides, awards, realia, and memorabilia relating to the Madrigal Dinner and other concert performances.
