Overview Exercise Tiger was a training exercise leading up to what eventually was D-Day. The rehearshal for the Normandy Beach landing took place on Slapton Sands, a British seafront, on April 27-28, 1944. it became the deadliest training exercise during World War II. Both friendly fire and attacks by German E-boats led to the deaths of 749 men.
