Back: The Famous SOD HOUSE at Colby, Kansas. Built and furnished like the thousands of rugged prairie homes used by the homesteaders throughout the plains region of North America. Walls two feet thick are plastered and whitewashed inside. Roof is covered with sod. Visited every year by thousands of tourists. Open form May until Autumn. Handwritten: Sept 10 Ray stood this trip fine. Was at Lyons for week end grand food. His sister fed us too much. Ray has gained 1 1/2 #. We leave for Colo. Monday 9th. Florence spends a few days in Denver & Colo. Springs while we are in the country. Florence was lucky to sell her furniture to a bachelor even her curtains. A few pieces she is bring to W. Va. We traded our 2 cars for a new Ford. I had such a nice trip out here. Weather like Colo. I had a letter from George Welsh. O.K. We hadn't written. Love E. | Mr. and Mrs. Charles A.
