Front: 40 Reward! - Stolen in October, 1879, at Paola, Kansas the following property: One dark brown horse, 12 years old, 15 1/2 hands high, branded J.B. on shoulder, heavy mane and tail, some white about the hind feet, collar and saddle marks. One small gray or white mare, 12 years old, 14 1/2 hands high, shows white of eyes very plain, the skin of face very white, heavy mane and tail, small scar on one thigh. One farm wagon, box painted green with yellow stripes running full length of box, inside of box worn by hauling boxes and barrels, old-fashioned square hounds, Slider old-fashioned saw break, running gears more worn than box, has reaper neck-yoke. Stolen by W. H. Ewing, goes by name of Hale Ewing, about 35 years old, sandy complected, small blue eyes, weighs about 165 lbs., is a native of Pope county, Arkansas. Mrs. Ewing is a small woman with red hair and blue eyes, four children, the oldest a boy about 13 years, red hair, the youngest about 1 year old. Eqing left Carthage, Mo., last May with the above property and family. It is supposed went towards Neosho, in Newton County, Mo. Arrest, hold and telegraph A. W. LONG, Sheriff, Paola, Kansas.
