Front: The Wichita Art Museum, Wichita, Kansas, This reproduction from the architect's drawing shows the building as it will look when completed. The first unit, a portion of the central section, was opened to the public in September, 1935. This impressive structure, beautiful in its simplicity of form and proportion, was designed by Clarence Stein, who drew his inspiration from the primitive arts of the American Southwest.
