Back: In the Heart of the Nation. Near Salina, Kansas. Located some four miles east of Salina just off of Highway US 40, the Indian Burial pit is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in the Middle West. Since its discovery in 1936 the Burial Pit has been visited by thousands of interested visitors. Prominent names from every state in the Union and several foreign countries are represented on its guest books. When visiting, or traveling, in the Middle West it should be a “Must See” on your list.
