Biographical / Historical
Marine Corps Intelligence Specialist and Japanese interpreter during World War II. Member of Navy Task Force 31 which entered Yokosuka, Japan on August 30, 1945 several days before the official Japanese surrender, and liberated POW's who had been taken prisoners on Wake, Guam, Bataan, Corregedor, etc. Assisted in the Tokyo War Crimes Investigations.

Both Lieutenant Colonel Earl H. Ellis (USMC) and Amelia Earhart were from Kansas.

Portion of his letter to Dr. Paschal states "According to my Japanese Naval Intelligence sources, Lt. Earl Hancock Ellis, was the first American POW, captured by the Japanese 19 years before World War 2. The second American POW, captured by the Japanese was Amelia Earhart, on July 2, 1937, fourteen years before the Pearl Harbor attack!!!!"
