U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), enlisted. 2nd Marine Division. Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa. WWII / Re-enlisted in the U.S. Army (USA) in 1947. 11th Airborne Division, Japan. Later served in Germany and Korea. Sent to Vietnam as a Command Sergeant Major of the 2nd Battalion of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Vietnam War
