Biographical / Historical
World War II - U.S. Army 4th Armored Division. Landed on the beach at Cherbourg, France on D-11 Day 1942. His tank was the third tank to hit the beach. He was in Austria in 1944 to assist the 101st Airborne. His tank encountered two German Tiger Royals and was forced to surrender after mechanical failure. He spent one week in Stalag A13 and then transferred to Stalag 23 where he remained for 13 weeks until being liberated by the Americans.
