Abstract The James L. Forsythe Papers consists of materials created and collected by Dr. James L. Forsythe, noted Kansas historian, professor and chair of the History Department at Fort Hays State University. It also includes research notes and manuscript drafts for Dr. Forsythe’s book entitled The first 75 years: A History of Fort Hays State University.

Scope and Contents The Kansas Oral History Project Collection originated from the office of Dr. James L. Forsythe, professor for the History Department at Fort Hays Kansas State College, now Fort Hays State University. There are interviews conducted by Dr. James L. Forsythe as part of his historical research into the history of the University, and other subjects.
